Mahara - Access Denied

Mahara - Access Denied

At least half of my student's Mahara pages are unavailable to me. Messages like "access denied" and "none that you can see". They don't seem to know how to grant me the necessary access. Is there a simple (or complicated!) answer?

Hi

If you direct your students to the Mahara help pages there are video guides on sharing their pages:

Hi Richard,

Just a quick question, if you are unable to access the Mahara page are you then still able to access the help pages that are on the Mahara Dashboard ?

Hi

If you are able to access Mahara then you can access the help pages. Anyone who is able to log onto My Newman should be able to access Mahara as it is a single sign on.

Are you not able to access Mahara at all?

Kind Regards

Hi

Thanks for replying , I'm getting a hit and miss problem with Mahara, the mahara page is saying on my account that it is unresponsive , and gives me 2 options to kill or wait for the page to upload?

Any ideas on this please

It's OK for me.  Are you on campus? If so, pop into the e-learning office (EL105 or EL111).

If not, can you try in a different browser?

Hi,

I believe this usually means the browser has timed out, the page has failed to load correctly or there's a loss of connection. My advice is to either try another browser or close your existing browser and try again.

If you're still having trouble, you're more than welcome to come into the e-learning office (EL105) or give us a call on ex. 2645.

Kind regards

Thank you both,

I will try both your suggestions and if it carries on I'll come and see Bob or Nazryn in e-learning, at some point this week.

One other option would be to reset your browser (assuming its IE):

TOOLS (or the cog symbol) > INTERNET OPTIONS > ADVANCED (tab) > RESET > (delete personal settings is optional).

When complete, close and reopen the browser and try again.

Hi All

Just a quick scenario,

Its 10am and my assignment needs to be uploaded at 12 noon the same day.

I cant access Mahara for whatever reason. I have an assignment thats completed on Mahara and I need to upload through Mahara, but I can't access the Mahara help pages as they are on the same page.

Where's my next option of help ?

Bare in mind,  I would be really anxious and panicking at this stage over my assignment :-)))))

Hi

I am able to provide direct links to the youtube videos that are on the help pages (e.g

for the sharing video) but if you can't access Mahara at all then you can't do any of the things the helps pages show you how to such as chage access rights to your pages or submit your work.

The help pages are only for guides on how to use Mahara which is what the original query was. In the case of issues with accessing Mahara if you can't then you can email us (e-learning@newman.ac.uk), pop in or call using the number above. As we would need to investigate.

Kind Regards

Richard
